How to choose the best Garage-gym-equipment?

Our Garage-gym-equipment buying guide explains how to compare Garage-gym-equipments by technical specifications.

4 benefits of garage gyms

Lately, the demand for good quality home gym equipment has risen sharply over the last few years.

We’re not sure whether it’s because of increasing membership fees, a lack of time, increasing fuel prices, or a distinct dislike of other people, but more and more people seem to now be building impressive gym setups in their garages.

It doesn’t matter whether any of the above applies to you, or if you simply want the option of working out at home to mix things up a bit, but if you are considering building a garage gym at home, here are 4 great benefits that emphasize why doing so is such a good idea.

No travel to gym

One of the best reasons to build a garage gym at home is simply because there is no travel involved. Unless you are fortunate enough to live or work next door to a gym, you will need to take time out of your day to travel to and from the gym in question.

If you are struggling for time, or if you’re simply sick of driving/traveling, this can be a bit of a nuisance. If you set up a garage gym at home, however the only travel you need to do is out of your door, and walk a few yards into your garage to work out.

No crowds

If you’ve ever experienced the pure chaos that is a commercial gym at peak time, you’ll know how incredibly busy things can get.

Crowded gyms at peak times can be the stuff that nightmares are made off. There are people everywhere hustling and bustling to try to get onto the more popular machines, and so finding a spare piece of equipment can prove harder than ever.

Even more frustrating is that normally there will be people rushing you, asking you how many sets you have left, as they hang over your shoulder and impatiently check the time every 10 seconds. With a garage gym, however, there are no crowds to contend with.

There’s simply you, and any friends and/or family members who may also use the gym, so you can do what you want, when you want, without having to fight to get a free bench.

Save money on gym subscription

Sure, you need to spend money to build a garage gym and kit it out, but once all of the equipment has been purchased, the garage gym will pay for itself in no time at all.

With a garage gym there are no expensive gym membership fees to pay for, no snacks and drinks from the vending machines, no overpriced protein shakes from behind the gym counter, and no parking, travel, and fuel expenses to worry about either.

These costs quickly add up, and each year you will save hundreds, if not thousands, making a garage gym a very worthwhile investment.

Listen to your favorite music

Music while working out is very important for most of us. The problem with commercial gyms is that they have to play generic music that will likely appeal to the masses.

Generic pop music, for example, will likely be heard in many commercial gyms, which is great if you like pop.

If you hate pop and prefer Death Metal, however, you need to throw in your headphones instead, which is just not the same.

Having your gym means that you just need a decent stereo system, and you can then turn the tunes up as loud as you like, and listen to what you like, without having to worry about upsetting anybody.
